<div itemprop="description">Sophie Riedl<br />May 4, 1926 &ndash; January 9, 2015<br /><br />Sophie passed away peacefully at the Residence Henri-Bradet on Friday January 9th 2015. She leaves to mourn close friends who made up her family, in particular Hilde Orel and her daughter, Evelyne, as well as colleagues from days gone by. Special thanks are extended to the staff of the Residence Henri-Bradet in Notre Dame de Grace, whose kindness and care made a real difference.<br />Sophie immigrated to Canada from Austria (Europe) in 1953, made Montreal her home, and worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital for over 30 years. She was especially tied to nature and enjoyed being in the country. Her love for animals was evident by the many rescued creatures that shared her life. Sophie was a true friend, ready to help, always quietly supportive.<br />A brief visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, followed by a service for Sophie will be held this Wed. Jan. 14th at 1 pm at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 chemin de la Foret, in Outrement (514-279-6540). A graveside service is planned for this spring and will be announced. <br />In lieu of flowers, Donations to the SPCA of Montreal would be Sophie&rsquo;s wish.<br /></div>
