In Celebration of

Veronica Eleanor Cosgrove

July 13, 1957 -  August 25, 2022

Veronica Eleanor Cosgrove was born on July 13, 1957, in Montreal Quebec to Kathleen Mulligan (deceased) and William Cosgrove. She passed away suddenly on August 25, 2022, at the age of 65, while at home in Montreal. Devoted daughter of William and Frances Cosgrove of Baie-d’Urfé. Loving sister to Anne-Marie Cosgrove (Juris) of Innisfil, ON; Carolee Rigsbee (Mike) of Springfield IL; Christopher-John Cosgrove (Myriam) of Nanaimo, BC; Sean Cosgrove (Jenny) of Catharpin, VA; Virginia Cosgrove (Todd) of Winnipeg, MB; and Catherine Cosgrove (Philippe) of Vaudreuil. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Veronica loved living in her NDG home and neighbourhood, where she could walk to stores and enjoy a quiet life. In her youth, Veronica was a great athlete, competing in various sports including tennis at high school in Dollard-des-Ormeaux and in Langley, VA and university level at McGill, having also attended University of British-Columbia.

With her lively spirit, warm smile and thoughtfulness, Veronica made friends in the various communities where she lived. Her most memorable working years were in McLean, VA, at McLean Auto Parts.

She never lost her love of sports, having fun keeping up with results and providing updates to family and friends. In recent years, Veronica was developing her love of cooking. She was very proud of the life that she made, and to have had the chance to meet her biological daughter, and seeing all that she had become.

Veronica loved her family dearly and looked forward to joining in celebrating birthdays and special events. She enjoyed hosting at her home and kept incredible photo albums and other keepsakes of loved ones, near and far. She will be dearly missed by her family, neighbours and friends.

A very special thank you to Edith and to all the staff of the Benny Farm CLSC for the incredible quality of life that they helped foster for Veronica, and in earlier years, to Marjorie and Ted Hagarty (deceased) who took care of her in BC.

Visitation will take place on Monday September 5, 2022 at the Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 autoroute Transcanadienne, Senneville, H9X 0B2, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and on Tuesday September 6, 2022 at Corpus-Christi Catholic Church, 16, Pacific Ave, Senneville, Quebec, H9X 1A3 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a service at church.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to New Hope NDG (https://newhopendg.com).
