I wish you and your family comfort during your sorrow. The Bible gives a real hope and promises that your loved one will soon come back to life in a peaceful paradise on the earth. (John 5:28, 29)
I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Vera Jenks who was a long-time resident at Manoir Westmount where I work as Leisure Department Supervisor. Mrs. Jenks always had a smile for me and she offered her time to volunteer for many activities/events over the years including Resident Council representative for her floor, sale of daffodils (for Cancer research,) sale of raffle tickets for our annual bazaar to benefit local charities and more...she will be missed and remembered with fondness.
Vera and I have been friends for over 40 years. She was truly an elegant and lovely lady. We used to meet for lunch at Ogilvy's tea room. I remember fondly meeting up in Maine on summer vacations. We kept in touch throughout all those years and I cherish our conversations and laughs. I miss her.
I have known Vera over 20 years since moving to live next door to her sister Olive. After Olives husband died the "girls" got together each year over Christmas and New Year.
My late husband and I became great friends with Olive, she was more like family than neighbour and when Vera travelled here they always joined us for Christmas Day and New Year meals and celebrations.

Vera came over annually until the age of 90 after which she found travel too difficult but she and I kept in telephone contact until fairly recently.
She was, as her sister was also, a lovely friend and I shall miss her very much.
Her sister Olive sadly died 94 years old with dementia just over a year ago and I visited her right to the end and organised a lovely funeral service for her, details of which were all relaid to Vera but hopefully they are now together once again.
Two lovely ladies both sadly missed.
