It is with great sadness and a profound sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of Stella Suzan Turchyn on January 1, 2023 at the age of 73.
Stella was born in Jankowicze, Poland and immigrated to Canada with her family when she was 6 years old. She was a graduate of McGill University’s Education program. She was well known for her cooking and baking skills, particularly for her chocolate birthday cakes, pecan pies and strawberry shortcakes. Stella was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with her group of girlfriends as well as her husband whenever an opportunity arose. Stella was an enthusiastic reader and loved discussing books with members of her book club. She loved to travel and would immerse herself in the history and culture of the places she visited. Stella was always ready to listen to others without judgment and with an open mind. She saw the beauty in people and the world around her. She was so loved and cherished by her sisters and brother. Being surrounded by her family meant the world to her. Stella loved to laugh and embraced life to the fullest.
