In Celebration of

Ronald John Wyer

May 16, 1929 -  July 21, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald John Wyer on July 21, 2022. Son of the late George Ronald Wyer and L. Maude Hill, Ron is survived by his two children, son Graham, daughter Heather, and grandchildren Olivia, Julian and Maya.

Born in Toronto, Ron spent most of his youth in Toronto and Vancouver. He matriculated at Lower Canada College in Montreal and subsequently earned his B Comm from McGill University. Ron then followed the theme “Go west young man” and moved to Calgary to start his career. This was also where he met his future wife Dorothy Eadie. McGill called again and Ron obtained his license to practice as a CA. Back in Westmount, with his now wife Dorothy, the two of them set up house and home and added to their team two wonderful children Graham and Heather. Years sped by with Heather marrying Frank Candido and adding grandchildren Olivia and Julian. Graham married Behdis Nowrouzi and they added granddaughter Maya, completing their team of 9.

After retirement, Ron became a “professional” volunteer. This period commenced with his service for almost 20 years with the Montreal Protestant Home and Hospital, the last 10 years as President. Along with this, he was involved with various committees at McGill through the Graduates Society and with St. Matthias Church, St. James the Apostle Church and Meals on Wheels at St. Matthias.

Ron was the ultimate family man, enjoying so much his wife, children and grandchildren and all their friends. He missed so many friends who predeceased him. He also thought of and spoke with his many new friends of late. He was an extrovert extraordinaire, a great “people person” and knew that he enjoyed a rewarding and fulfilling life.

Carry on team spreading love and fellowship.

A celebration of Ron’s (and his beloved and recently passed wife Dorothy’s) lives will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 2:00pm at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex (1297 Chemin de la Forêt Outremont, Quebec H2V 2P9). For those who cannot be present, the ceremony will be broadcasted live on the web and available for replay via the following link : https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/58088. Condolences to start at 1:00pm.
