In Celebration of

Robert Damien Lipscombe

April 15, 1942 -  October 10, 2022

Passed away peacefully on October 10th, 2022, at the age of 80 years old.

He was the loving husband of his wife Joanne Lipscombe; a generous and inspiring father to his children, Gregory, Matthew, and Catherine; a fun loving grandfather to his grandchildren Ava June, Lucas and Edgar. He will be sadly missed also by his siblings, Francis, Bill, Gerard, and Steven, as well as his cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.

His love of nature, his adventurous spirit and his resilience, are demonstrated by two-month-long camping trips he shared with his family across Canada.

As a teacher, he will be remembered as a "walking encyclopedia" on memorable field trips. He was the president of the Canadian Association of Geographers for many years.

He will be dearly missed for his kind heart, brilliant mind and bright eyes that were always open to learning something new.

Family will receive condolences from 12:30 pm to 1 pm on Friday, November 11th, 2022 at Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC H2V 2P9. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm and reception.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the David Suzuki Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Mr Lipscombe nurtured my love of geography and travel. I have subscribed to National Geographic for 40 years and visited too many countries to count because of the passion that he stilled in his students. A lot of great memories!
An amazing teacher.
May he Rest In Peace.

I will never forget one thing so silly. He always had those Vicks candies even if he was not sick. Lollll. He was a great teacher and yes a walking encyclopedia. He is one kind of teacher you always remember even after many years. He actually was so nice for dealing with us clowns. I would like to give my deepest condolences to the family.
