My father, my star, my guiding shepherd.
My first driving lesson was one of the hardest lessons you taught me. You drove me a few blocks from our house, parked the car and stepped out. You told me to get in the driver’s seat, you gave me the keys, explained the basics, then, as you were walking away, you said, “I’ll meet you at home.” Naturally, I panicked. “You mean to say that I will be doing this all by myself? What if I can’t do it?” Unlike me, you had full confidence that the car and I would make it back to the house intact. As I reflect back on that day, turns out, this lesson wasn’t about driving a car at all; it was about showing me how to navigate life as an independent person. A million thanks for that.
You have always encouraged me to follow my heart, my dreams, my passion.
I love you, pops. Sweet dreams. Jojo et Ron
