In Celebration of

Norman "Norm" Crutchfield

June 28, 1940 -  December 16, 2019

On Monday, December 16, Norm Crutchfield’s huge heart came to a stop after 79 years of living and loving every moment. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marnie Crutchfield (Smit), his ridiculously cool sons Kent (Cecilia) and Peter (Mary Ann), talented granddaughter Rebecca, his super siblings, Linda, Geoffrey (Peggy), Andrew (Jerry), many nieces and nephews of varying skills, talents and favourite tv shows.
Born and raised in Shawinigan, Norm attended UNB where he graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1962 before getting his MBA from McGill in 1968. In 1966 he married Marnie, the love of his life. In 1970 they bought their first house in Gables Court, the place they loved and raised their two sons. After 48 years of friendly neighbours and unique community events, they finally decided to downsize and found a new home in Pointe Claire with like minded, friendly people.
Throughout it all he maintained a competitive spirit in skiing, tennis, biking & golf. The things he loved the most about life were family, family, friends, fun, sports, sweets, laughing, talking and connecting with others.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital, who all worked so hard to keep him with us and made him as comfortable as possible in his final days.
The family will host a visitation on Friday, December 27, from 1pm-3pm, followed by a celebration of Norm’s life from 3pm-6pm at the Belvedere Funeral Complex - 22025 Trans-Canada, Senneville, QC (Exit 40 on Hwy 40 West.), 514 457-4440 In lieu of flowers, those wishing to commemorate Norm’s life are encouraged to donate to Diabetes Canada, the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program or their favourite charity.

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure and memories are never forgotten. Rest in peace now Uncle Norm and say 'Hi' to the gang!

May you rest in peace Norm. I always enjoyed our tennis matches in Gables Court. You were a kind person who always had time for the kids.

Very sad news. A great loss...he had a smile that could comfort anyone around him and he was so very kind. He will be greatly missed and to all his family and friends, my most sincere condolences.

I went to school with Norm in Shawinigan and I once drove with him to UNB. I also worked with his sister, Linda, at Expo67. My deepest sympathy to the family.
