In Celebration of

Norma Catherine Farnell (McRae)

February 22, 1927 -  November 18, 2020

Norma Farnell passed away unexpectedly at her residence at the age of 93. It is hard to express in words what a truly remarkable woman she was.

To all who knew her, they cannot once remember her uttering a word of complaint. And this from a woman who experienced the Great Depression, the loss of her brother in the Second World War, a devastating polio diagnosis right after the birth of her son, the death of her husband, the love of her life (Prof Gerald Farnell), and, of course, a global pandemic. She took it all in stride, and always focused on the positive things in her life.

She was truly an inspiration to all and will be sorely missed, especially by her many friends and her family – her daughter Sandra (John Peacock), her son Doug (Anne Tchipeff) as well as her grandchildren (Erika, Anthony, Katherine, Alex) and great-grandchildren (Evan, Maya, Harrison, Spencer and Maë).
