In Celebration of

Nancy Emilie Turner

October 24, 1935 -  March 6, 2023

Nancy Emilie Turner passed away peacefully at home and on her own terms March 6, 2023, surrounded by family. Born in 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Blaney Calistas Turner and Julia Antoinette Dreher, she lived most of her life in Montreal and spent the majority of her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Manager at the Montreal General Hospital and teaching at McGill University’s School of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Sorely missed by Jill Harrison, her loving and devoted partner of over 40 years, and by her “adoptive family”, sister-in-law Joni Harrison (Jim Gosselin), brother-in-law Lindsay Moyer (Janet Harrison, deceased); nieces and nephews, Bradley Moyer (Laura Walker), Brent Moyer (Giada Lograno), Jason Gosselin, Amanda Gosselin (Drew Stevenson), and Brieanne Gosselin (Scott Casselman); great-nieces and -nephews Olivia, Emersyn, and Brielle Moyer, Luke and Tessa Moyer, Charlotte Stevenson, and baby-to-be Casselman; as well as cousins around the country. Pre-deceased by her dear aunt Emilie Dreher, in-laws June and Greig Harrison, and brother-in-law Greig Harrison II. She also leaves behind distant relatives in the United States.

Nancy was known for her kind and generous spirit, a smile that made everyone feel good, and the love of a shared meal. Those also mourning her loss and missing those happy times at the table include longtime friends in the US, across Canada, and here at home; friends from work; friends from Lac Saint Victor; friends from the MS group; friends from the dinner club; friends from the island and from her favourite hangout, Second Cup; and most loving and supportive friends from her Mountainside United Church.

The family wishes to thank Nancy’s numerous doctors and the CLSC Verdun for their tremendous support over the years. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mount Royal Cemetery and Funeral Complex, 1297 chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, Quebec. A reception will follow. The service will be livestreamed with the link available upon request closer to the date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be welcome.
