In Celebration of

Monireh Zargarpour

April 17, 1930 -  November 30, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we would like to announce the passing on Tuesday November 30th, 2021, of our beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Marie Monireh Zargarpour. We feel blessed, however, to have been present by her side, holding her hands at the time of her passing in the ICU of the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Her radiant soul has now joined that of her beloved husband, Dr. Manouchehr Zargarpour, in the Kingdom of God.

Marie was a gifted artist and a dedicated teacher. She first obtained a bachelors degree in Fine Arts in Iran. After moving from Iran to Canada in 1976 with her husband Manouchehr and their daughter Sepideh, she enrolled in the Bachelor's in Education program at the University of Toronto, where she obtained her B. Ed. degree. She then taught art in various Toronto high schools until her retirement. This is another arena in which she won over students and engaged them with her genuine interest and compassion. She and her husband then spent a few years in the United Arab Emirates in the 90’s for the medical practice of her husband. Following the birth of their 2 grandsons, they moved to Montreal to be closer to their daughter and her family. After the passing of her beloved husband in 2007, she continued to paint and give art classes to her friends until the very last weeks of her life.

Marie was an exceptionally loving mother to Sepi (Niky) and grandmother to Adrien and Nicolas, a faithful and generous friend to all who knew her and a model of resilience and courage until her very last moments. She unfailingly put into action the spiritual values of empathy, humanity, integrity and tolerance inspired by the Baha'i principles that animated her throughout her life.

We will miss her immensely. We also thank all those who showed her love and affection throughout her life.

We would be grateful if in lieu of flowers, you would consider making a donation to the Mona Foundation, https://www.monafoundation.org, in support of the promotion of education and gender equality.

Marie had true kindness and a radiant spirit, may she traverse the realms of God in that same happy spirit.

Her dazzling physical beauty is a manifestation of a more spiritual and everlasting beauty in the World Above, a beauty that will never die. I knew her through Mrs. Hashemi - seeing them always sitting together during the 19-Day Feasts, two beautiful and outstanding handmaidens of God. I called Mrs. Hashemi “My Queen” and now the two Queens are sitting together in the Abha Kingdom.
My prayers for the advancement of her pure soul.
With much love to Sepideh and her beloved family,
Katayoon Crerar
