In Celebration of

Martin Geoffrey Shaw

November 26, 1935 -  September 17, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Geoffrey Shaw on September 17, 2020 at the age of 84. He passed away with his daughter, granddaughter and close family friend by his side. His entire family; daughter Coleen, sons Martin Jr and Thomas, their spouses, his 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren are so grateful to have had him in our lives. He loved us all so much and never forgot to tell us.

Marty was kind, loving and had an infectious sense of humour. He held a degree in Social Work from St. Francis Xavier University (StFX), and devoted his life and career to helping others. Early in his career he worked for The Ville Marie Social services as a case manager and then for over 20 years ran the successful management placement agency, The 500 Selection Services. He retired at the age of 60 and then devoted his time to the non profit organization Executives Available- Cadres Disponibles for another 24 years.

In a world too often turned towards the negative, Marty always radiated optimism and empathy and his jovial spirit and genuineness never failed to reach minds and hearts. He was loved by so many of us and has left a legacy we can all be proud of.

Thank you to the team at the Teresa Dellar Palliative care Residence, NOVA , CLSC Lac St Louis and the Cancer Wellness Centre for your tireless support in making his last days peaceful and comfortable.

To protect everyone's health in the context of COVID-19 there will be no funeral service or visitation but we invite you all to take a moment to remember a time when Marty touched your heart or made you laugh. Cherish that memory.
