In Celebration of

Marjorie Price (nee Tostevin)

October 12, 1931 -  January 10, 2021

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the recent passing of Marjorie at the St. Andrews-CHSLD in her old neighbourhood of NDG, Montreal.

She was born in Perce, Quebec, and like her brothers and sisters, made the pilgrimage from the Gaspe to Montreal in search of a new life.

Marge was predeceased by her dear siblings Thornley, Don, May, Dorothy (Dot) and Ina. She met and courted the love of her life, Ronald Price, in Montreal, and they married in October 1953. She lived the rest of her life on Madison Avenue until she could no longer stay in the family home as her memory became more challenged. When Ron(nie) died in 2004, she found new friends at the NDG 50 Plus Club and the St. Thomas Church on Somerled. She also had the great good fortune to have the dearest of friends and neighbours on Madison, who she loved very much and who devotedly watched out for her to the end. Better neighbours one could not ask for!

She loved animals, including her dear tabby Tina, and was always available to “catsit” for others. Blessed with a green thumb, she loved flowers and spent many a summer day “working in the garden”, as she called it. She cherished the summer trips to Maine and other seaside destinations. She was gentle, thoughtful, generous, always smiling and loved to have a laugh. She is survived by her only son Steven, his wife Tracey, and many nieces and nephews, particularly Terry and husband Rick, Robert, and Gary and wife Maria, whom, by virtue of location, she saw most frequently.

She will be dearly missed by all, but we take solace in the fact that she is at peace and with her dear Ronnie, her siblings, and the others that went before. The family wishes to thank everyone at the St Andrews CHSLD for their tireless devotion to Marjorie, and in fact, all those in their care. What a fantastic group of people they are!

There will be a family graveside memorial in the spring/summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St Andrew’s Presbyterian Homes foundation at the following website https://standrewspresbyterianhomes.org/

A wonderful lady with an incredibly kind, gentle soul. She will be greatly missed. Never said a bad word about anyone. Only asked for a hello hug. Always smiling. Welcoming to all - friend or stranger. Someone we can aspire to be and should each day. Love you Aunt Marge.
