In Celebration of

Margaret (Peggy) Izzard née Macdonald

May 13, 2018

IZZARD, Margaret Lily (nee Macdonald), passed away peacefully in the company of her family, May 13th, 2018, at The North York General Hospital. She leaves her most loving family; husband of 65 years less 18 days, E. Grant Izzard, daughters Wendy Elizabeth Sahi and Barbara Kathleen Izzard-Levoy, sons-in-law Ash K. Sahi and Mark A. Levoy, granddaughters Stephanie R.K. Sahi (fiancée Michael McKenzie) and Stacia S. M. Sahi (recently deceased).
Margaret, known through her years at school and beyond as “Peggy”, was born in Montreal West, QC where she lived her first 49 years; attending Montreal West High School and McGill University, graduating with distinction. Peggy took part in high school sports (notably badminton) and other lifelong group activities (bridge, curling, bowling and water skiing). Summers were always spent at her beloved family cottage at Brome Lake (Eastern Townships) which she cherished to this day.
In 1953 she married Grant and set up a home in Pointe Claire, QC (Valois), where she saw her children safely through school/Sunday School and University. She was actively involved in her children’s extracurricular activities and pets; including Girl Guides, many United Church activities, and the local Ballet School (where she was a convenor). She enjoyed crafts, sewing for her girls, and travelling the world.
In 1978 Peggy and Grant moved to Scarborough, ON. where they continued their devotion to their children and granddaughters. They acquired a small, active business, where Peggy became the dedicated accountant and chief customer service manager. They retired together in late 1997, to enjoy their families.
A Visitation will take place Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, (Agincourt) with Service and Reception to follow. In Montreal a Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 Trans-Canada Highway, Senneville, Quebec. Private Family Internment to take place at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal, Quebec.
Peggy’s family wish to extend their sincere appreciation to the personnel of The North York General Hospital for their outstanding professional service, care and kindness shown at absolutely every turn. Donations to the North York General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
