In Celebration of

Lois Gamble (Morrison)

August 16, 1929 -  July 26, 2020

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Lois, just three weeks shy of her 91st birthday. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Warren (2018). Her loss will be deeply mourned by her four daughters: Jennifer Gamble Jankovics (Lloyd Watson), Nancy Gamble, Valerie Gamble Ayerst (Jay Ayerst), Sarah Gamble. Lois will be sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, of whom she was very proud. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Stuart Gamble, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.

Lois was born and raised on a farm north of Lachute, in a family descended from hardy pioneer stock. After training at MacDonald College she taught in several PSBGM schools and eventually specialized in assessing learning disabilities at the MCH-McGill Learning Centre. She was a long time active member of People's Church of Montreal, and a darn good pianist who didn't read music, but played by ear. In her later years, she discovered the internet, joined facebook, participated in several chat groups, and kept in touch with a worldwide network of friends and relatives. She also reconnected with her artistic side and loved to sketch and paint watercolours, when she wasn't busy checking her email.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a small private family funeral will be held on Monday, August 3rd at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex. A larger celebration of her life will follow when conditions improve.

In lieu of flowers, donations to World Vision Canada or The Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
