Dr. Katherine Berdnikoff – Wilson, née Golubyatnikoff le 14 février 1926 à Shanghai, a fait ses études de médecine à l’Université Aurore (maintenant Shanghai University #2), où elle a rencontré Georges Berdnikoff, son premier mari et père de ses deux enfants André et Michel, qu’elle laisse dans le deuil, avec ses petits-enfants Martin, Simon, Bruno, Charles, Alexander et Loïc et sa conjointe Rachel, parents de ses arrières petits-enfants Elliot et Sofia. Elle laisse également dans le deuil les enfants d’Oleg Wilson, son second mari défunt, Catherine, Elizabeth, Natalie, Marina, Alexandre et pensant également à Michael qui nous a quitté trop tôt, et leurs familles.

Avec les turbulences révolutionnaires en Chine et la naissance de leur premier fils André âgé à peine de quelques mois, Katherine et Georges réussissent à immigrer au Canada en 1951 où elle complète sa spécialité en pédiatrie à l’Hôpital Ste-Justine. Elle continue à se dévouer à sa pratique jusqu’à l’âge de 82 ans, tout en s’impliquant avec ferveur et compassion au cœur d’une diversité de causes, visant toujours une société plus équitable et respectueuse des droits de la personne et aussi des animaux.

Katherine s’est effacée tout sereinement le 9 septembre, 2021, entourée d’amour. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le 24 septembre en cérémonie privée en famille, à l’église Sign of the Theotokos, et elle fut enterrée au cimetière Mont-Royal.

Dr. Katherine Berdnikoff – Wilson, nee Golubyatnikoff, was born February 14, 1926 in Shanghai. She studied medicine during wartime there at the Aurore University (now Shanghai University #2), where she met and married Georges Berdnikoff, father of their two boys Andrew and Michel, who mourn her disappearance along with her grandchildren Martin, Simon, Bruno, Charles, Alexander and Loïc and his spouse Rachel, parents to her great grandchildren Elliot and Sofia. She also leaves behind her beloved late second husband Oleg Wilson’s children Catherine, Elizabeth, Natalie, Marina, Alexandre and thinking also of Michel who left us much too early, and their families.

During the revolutionary uprising in China and with the birth of their first son Andrew aged just a couple of months, Katherine and Georges managed to immigrate to Canada in 1951, where she completed her specialization in pediatrics while working at Montreal’s Saint-Justine’s Hospital. She continued to be devoted to her practice until the age of 82, while also being vigorously and compassionately remaining involved in a variety of causes always seeking a more equitable society that respects human and animal rights.

Katherine passed away serenely, September 9, 2021, surrounded with love. Her funeral was held September 24th with a private family ceremony at the Sign of the Theotokos church, and she was laid to rest at the Mount-Royal cemetery.
