In Celebration of

John Lovatt McLeod Hand

May 26, 1944 - July 30, 2022

John passed away peacefully at Charles Lemoyne hospital on July 30th due to complications from diabetes. Born in 1944 to Hilda and John Sr. in Longueuil, he spent most of his life in Quebec and had a long career in the Shipping Industry. He was predeceased by his wife Madeleine Shaw, with whom he enjoyed 31 years of marriage.
He is survived by his siblings Stephen ( Linda) and Leslie ( the late Marcel), and members of both the Hand and MacDougall (Shaw) families. He will also be remembered dearly by many friends and the Narines who considered him part of their family.
He will be remembered as a true gourmet and talented chef. He and his late wife shared this passion, inspiring them to travel, take cooking classes together, and entertain whenever they could.
Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada. (diabetes.ca)
His life will be celebrated at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Ch. de la Foret, Montreal, QC., on the 12th of August, 2022 at 2:00 PM followed directly by the burial. A separate reception will follow that evening.
