In Celebration of

Jeannette McDougall (née Dupuis)

January 23, 1931 -  December 29, 2018

Peacefully at CHSLD Laurendeau on December 29, 2018. Aged 87 years.

Mom, Nana, daughter, sister, wife, dear friend, animal lover, student, lab technician, pilot, reader, knitter, artist, Jeannette was a force of nature who lived life on her own terms.

Loving mother and mother-in-law of Karen and Rocco, John and Nathalie, and the late Steven. Cherished Nana of Lisa, Michael and Emma.

Born in Alfred, Ontario and raised in Montebello, Québec. Following her studies at Université de Montréal, she enjoyed a long career in the Biochemistry Lab at St-Mary's Hospital while raising her brood and pursuing various creative hobbies. While in her early 50s she delightfully followed a lifelong dream by learning to fly a plane. Devoted animal lover, she was never without an assortment of rescued cats in her care as well as Buddy, one very tiny, very spoiled poodle who was her constant companion in retirement.

For the past 20 years or so, Mom had been predicting her demise. Every November, without fail, she would utter these words: "I'm not going to survive the winter. Nope. Not going to make it." Well Mama, this time, you were right. Ever amusing, she wrote this for us to find on the envelope containing her last will and testament: 'That's it, that's all! Love you all.

The family will greet visitors on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm at the Mount-Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC H2V 2P9.

In lieu of flowers, which Jeannette insisted were for the living, a donation to the SPCA or your favourite animal rescue organisation would be appreciated.
