In Celebration of

Janina Kalandyk nee Smagiel

June 12, 1924 -  February 9, 2021

On February 9, 2021, Janina Smagiel passed away peacefully, due to complications from Covid 19. She was 96 years old.
She lived a full life, and was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Janina was a woman who loved life, and could always be seen with a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and a dance in her step.
She was an inspiration to all who met her, and we were fortunate to have her in our lives. She had a great sense of humour, and she always saw the positive side of life. Her husband of 62 years, Kazimierz Kalandyk, predeceased her in 2007.
She leaves behind her devoted daughters, Renata (Tony Cardillo), and Margaret (Andrew Derzsy). She will be greatly missed by her adoring granddaughters, Amanda (Alan Bogos), Kristina (Michael Barrett), and Samantha, her step-grandsons Sean and Kyle, and the special joys in her life, her great-grandchildren, Sara, Zoe, and Aidan. She also leaves behind, her loving family in Poland. A private memorial will be held on February 25, 2021 at 11 a.m. Please connect with Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88411993770?pwd=KzdlOXY5NHZscUdNV0pPcVlSdkpOUT09

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Breast Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all the Wonderful, Fun Memories, Mama! Until we meet again...

The world is a lesser place without such a beautiful soul who could light up a room with her smile.
You are with your wonderful husband now, please give him a big kiss and hug for us.
May you Rest In Peace and enjoy your ever after life.

I remember as a little girl how Mrs. Kalandyk always made me feel welcome when I played with Margie. She made me feel that I was a part of their family. Not having any brothers or sisters, this was truly a blessing! Rest in peace, Dear Lady.
