In Celebration of

Irene Nagy Szücs

June 19, 1949 -  January 19, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Irene (Nagy) Szücs on January 19, 2021, at the age of 71. Predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Bob, she will be deeply missed by her son Stephen (daughter-in-law Rachel), daughter Erika (son-in-law Tom), and her grandchildren Elias and Evangeline, who were her pride and joy. And let's not forget her furry family members Chewy, Lio, Charmin and Maggie. She will also be fondly and forever remembered by her younger sister Linda Kelemen (brother-in-law Dave), and other family members and friends.
Born in New York City, she moved to Montreal soon after marrying Bob. Even after all those years, people could stick pick up her American accent.
Irene moved into a private seniors' residence following the death of her husband where she formed some wonderful friendships and discovered new hobbies, such as wheelchair yoga and word search. She even enjoyed a game of Bingo now and again, despite her initial reservations and many, many jokes.
In spite of her physical hardships, Irene had a bright disposition and always shared a smile.
Her family will remember her in a private mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 Trans-Canada, Senneville, Qc, H9X 0B2, 514-457-4440.

When You Speak of Her
Author Unknown

“When you speak of her,
speak not with tears,
for thoughts of her should not be sad.
Let memories of the times you shared
give you comfort,
for her life was rich
because of you.”

What can I say - your passing was so unexpected.
David, Jennifer, Gregory, Keri and I send our deepest sympathy to Stephen, Rachel, Erika, Tom, Elias and Evangeline.
Irene was a wonderful sister even though we had the miles between us. We talked on the phone almost every week. We talked about everything --- cooking, weather, religion, politics, family. We also made each other laugh a lot. When we were ready to say "goodbye" and hang up the phone --- it took about another ten minutes because we told each other how much we loved each other. I know I won't be able to call her anymore, but I will talk to her everyday. She will be in my prayers and my thoughts.
She use to tell me I was her angel every time we hung up the phone. Now Irene you will be an angel to all of us.
Rest in peace, I love you. You are my angel.

May her free spirit fly as high as she wishes within the sky to watch over her loved ones with love.

My Love and Prayers are with Irene and her family. I still have fond memories of being one of your bridesmaids in your wedding. The miles kept us apart but you've always had a special place in my heart. Now you can soar with the Angels, like the Angel you are.

Stephen, Erika and Linda,
So very sad to hear of Irene's passing. I have many wonderful memories of Irene when I was a young child and was so very fond of her. I am comforted knowing that she is no longer in any discomfort and that she has provided her family with loving memories.
I pray you find comfort through your family and the loving memories you can share together.
