In Celebration of
Hortensia Martinez née Blanco
April 27, 1934 -
March 7, 2021
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Hortensia Blanco.
Beloved wife of the late José Martinez; loving mother of Maria Hortensia (Michael), José Luis (Angela), Eduardo (Paola) and Laura (Victor); proud grandmother of Michael, Stephanie, Matthew, Sarah, Zoë, José, Kamryn and Serena. She also leaves behind her sisters Dalia, Laura (Rocío) and her brother Eduardo (Diane), brother & sisters in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A mother that was so very present in all our lives. A beautiful soul, inside and out. She loved to laugh and enjoy life along side our father. Nothing gave our mother more pleasure than being surrounded by her family and treating them to the best meals ever, as she was a fantastic cook. Her calm and compassionate nature made us feel safe and understood. Always reassuring and this until the very end.
We have been truly blessed to have her as a Mother and she has left us with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. She will be greatly missed by all.
