It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Hortense Chamandy (nee Barakett) on Monday October 29th, 2018 in Montreal.

Daughter of the late Simon Barakett and the late Shafica Sukree. Hortense was predeceased by Madeleine Lutfy (nee Barakett) and her husband Sam Lutfy, Hortense’s late husband Joseph Abraham Chamandy, her loving brothers Edmond, Albert, Leon, survived by Sylvia Barakett. She leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews, as well as many grand nieces and nephews.

Hortense was a true “Soul Sister“with Madeleine. Known for her passion of gourmet cooking, entertainment and fashion; done with elegance and unique style. A class act that was beautiful, dignified, graceful and wise. Hortense, may your memory be eternal. God Bless.

Visitation will be held on Sunday November 4th, 2018, from 6 to 9 pm at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de La Foret, Outremont, H2V 2P9, 514-279-6540.

The service will be held on Monday November 5th, 2018, at 11am in the chapel of the Mount Royal Funeral Complex.
