In Celebration of

Hildegarde Karas (née Danch)

October 15, 1927 -  July 26, 2019

Mrs Karas (née Danch) was the matriarch and guiding light of her family. She had a solid sense of fairness and morality that not only guided her but inspired everyone around her. She was an incredible judge of character and didn’t suffer fools, in which case you may find yourself at the wrong end of her razor-sharp wit. Even though she lived through some of the worst manifestations of human nature during World War II Germany every family situation or drama, no matter how small, was addressed with the same importance, empathy and love. Her instinct as a caretaker was unparalleled, she could quickly “read a room” in order to apply her magic to whoever or whatever situation needed her most, whether it was a warm embrace, words of encouragement or a bite of one of her home made delicacies. She will mostly be remembered for her intuitive, perceptive, present, caring, and incredibly nurturing way. She made everyone she loved better and everyone she loved felt like they were her favorite. The angels will be able to learn a thing or two from her, as her loved ones did.
