Haruko (Uno) Funamoto
April 18, 1919 – August 25, 2017

Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, The Balfour Palliative Care Unit at 1:00 am on August 25, 2017. She is pre-deceased by her husband Douglas Tamaichi, daughter Gaye, siblings Kimiko, Yoshiyuki, Katsumi Bob, Yaeko, and Yuki. Loving son Glenn (Kathy) was an occasional chauffeur and frequent visitor when at home, in the apartment or in the residence. Loving “Bachan” to Allyson (Elliot Cameron) and Andrew. Nieces Joan and Lori were like daughters to her and they will miss her phone calls. We all have great memories of birthday and anniversary celebrations. Family and friends all have fond memories of Oshogatsu feasts that were shared with anyone who wanted to visit. Many friends were introduced to sushi way before it was a fast food.

Dear Glenn, Kathy and Family,
So very sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mom, mom-in-law and grandmother. It is so difficult to lose a precious family member at any stage in one's life. You have precious memories of times spent over a span of literally decades.....hold them close to your heart and they will never leave you. She is finally at peace and rest.......thankful that she also realized that she was in good hands in her last days. Lifting your family up in our prayers as these next days unfold.
