In Celebration of

Gregory 'Gregg' Efraimidis

January 25, 1939 -  September 6, 2018

Gregory “Gregg” Efraimidis passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6th, 2018 at his home in Montreal, QC, surrounded by his family.

Gregory was born in Veria Imathia, Greece on January 25th, 1939 to Themistocles Efraimidis and Despina née Karipidou, Pontian refugees who fled their ancestral homeland of Pontus in the Black Sea region during the Pontian genocide. He grew up in the town of Makrohori, the youngest of seven children, and, at the age of nineteen, he followed his older brothers to Montreal with a dream to forge a better life for himself and his soon to be young bride, Yiota. He was a devoted and indulgent father, determined to empower his children with every opportunity that he could give them. He had a quirky sense of humour that easily endeared him to others. He was a workaholic and a natural born salesman. He was generous and helped anyone who asked for his help. He had a heart of gold, and he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 10th, 2018 between 4pm and 9pm at the

Mount Royal Funeral Complex
1297 Chemin de la Foret
Outremont, Quebec
H2V 2P9 (514) 279-6540

The funeral will take place at St-George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 2455 Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Montréal, QC H3T 1A8 on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 at 11am, followed by burial at the Mount Royal Cemetery.

The family asks for people not to send flowers.
