In Celebration of

Frieda Leber

April 21, 1931 -  October 16, 2022

Frieda Leber, after a long, happy, and productive life of 91 years, passed away in Pointe-Claire on October 16 in the presence of members of her supportive family. Frieda was the only daughter of Philipp and Suzanna Nuss and a caring elder sister to Richard (Alda) and Eric (Rosemary). Predeceased by Fred, her husband of 59 years, and loving mother to Brian (Elif), Ronald (Maude Goulet), and Alan (Natwara Dokbua), and proud and doting grandmother to Fredrick, Andrew, Philipp, Timothy, Rebekah, and Thomas. She will be greatly missed by the extended Leber, Nuss, Dietrich, and Hebel families; her nieces and nephews; and the friends of her sons who happily partook over the years of her delightful Christmas cookies. A celebration of life will be held on November 19th at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont. Visitation is from 12:00 to 13:30, with Church service at 13:30 followed by a reception. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

I was one of many Brian’s and Elif’s friends who knew Frieda for many years. I remember her as a bright, generous, kind, compassionate and thoughtful person. We stayed in touch through the many years. Our friendship was one where we left off, even if some months had passed. I will remember her with great pride and I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during their time of sorrow. She will be missed by many. Tom (Tomas)

Frieda was a wonderful, wise woman. I will greatly miss our conversations and her advice about life and motherhood. She gave me my first Christmas gift, and I will always remember her when we celebrate holidays with cookies in it.
