Fiona Mackenzie Key

Fiona died peacefully on March 4th, 2018 after a short but fierce battle against lung cancer.

She was the beloved wife of David McPherson, who passed away on September 12th 2012, devoted mother of Catherine, and loving sister of Stella and Bill. She will be deeply missed by many. After working as a pediatrician serving remote communities in northern Scotland then in Newfoundland and Labrador, Fiona worked as a child psychiatrist for 40 years with the Montreal Children’s Hospital. She was a wonderful healer and teacher who loved her work deeply and changed the lives of so many. She will be forever remembered for her vibrant laugh and quick smile, her deep kindness and compassion, her patience and thoughtfulness, and her spirit of adventure.

Visitation will be held at Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held at Mountainside United Church, 4000 the Boulevard, at 11am on Friday, March 9th, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fiona’s memory to a charitable organization would be appreciated.
