In Celebration of

Evagelia "Eva" Troulis (née Rodousakis)

December 20, 1929 -  May 9, 2019

Passed away peacefully into God's arms in her sleep, at her home, as she hoped, on May 9, 2019. She was born December 20, 1929 in Chania, Crete, Greece, where she grew up the oldest of 5 children. In Greece, she studied commerce (The Emporiki). She moved to Canada in the 50s with her husband Spiro, and put herself through school. She worked until the age of 70 as a fashion designer. She was a nurturing working mom to Maria-Julia. She stressed the importance of education to gain independence. She was relentless to her death, about being independent. Her passions were her dogs (Maxie, Sandy and Whitney), cooking, shopping, embroidery and gardening.

Her daughter, Maria, son-in-law Michael, and first grandchild, a beagle named Whitney, were the treasures in her life. Then, her greatest joy came as being the best, warmest, most-loving Yaya to Tyler and Connor. They were her brightest stars, her “kopelakai” and, her greatest source of pleasure was watching her grandsons grow. This fiercely independent lady would take a bus from Montreal to Boston to celebrate their births, Thanksgiving, grandparents day, Christmas and every birthday. Fortunately, she recently celebrated Connor’s 7th and Tyler’s 9th birthday. Her chocolate cakes and cookies will be missed. Along with her comments of how proud she is, her unconditional love, support, encouragement and especially her warm and plentiful religious blessings. She will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her brother, Nick, numerous nieces and nephews, children, Maria and Michael, and precious grandsons, Tyler and Connor. Yaya you are forever in our hearts and our Angel in Heaven to watch over us and guide us. We love you forever and ever. Private Services were held on May12,2019.
