In Celebration of

Elisabeth de Grave (née Ascoli)

February 13, 1933 -  December 4, 2021

Elisabeth (Betty) passed away on Saturday, December 4th leaving behind her husband and soulmate Pierre de Grave, after 62 years of marriage.
She will be held lovingly in the hearts of her children, Marc and Diane as well as their respective spouses Celia de Grave (née Cavaleiro) and Bruno Caron. She will be cherished and live on in the hearts of her adored grandchildren: Philipe, Nicholas, Jacqueline (de Grave) and Ariane and Frédérique Caron. Betty also leaves behind her brother Jacques Ascoli and a multitude of nephews, nieces and close friends.
Born in Belgium, she immigrated to Canada in the 40's, settling in Montreal where she met Pierre. From the Sacred Heart, to Marianopolis and McGill, she instilled the importance of learning to her children. Betty thrived in the corporate world achieving successive promotions during her tenure with Bell Canada and managing her own successful businesses over the years.
Whether it be by revealing the punchline of a joke and then turning to Pierre to retell the joke, or breaking into sudden dance whenever "Spanish Eyes" would start playing... there was never a dull moment. A ball of energy, Betty was always the life of the party whether orchestrating neighborhood kid games on Mgr. Taché, at the cottage in Frelighsburg or planning an evening of bridge. Always on the go, she undertook to planting over 1000 trees in Frelighsburg, trees that today stand tall and strong ... just like her.
She will be missed in so many ways by so many. Please raise a glass of Sherry (or two) when you think of her and know that she is thinking of you.
At the wish of the family, a private celebration will be held.
