Edward Bergeron

July 16, 1925 -  January 9, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Bergeron on January 9, 2018 at the age of 92.
Predeceased by his wife Vivian, his brothers Kenneth, Alison, Maxwell and his sister Claire, survived by his sister Janita and his brother Noel.

Edward will be fondly remembered by his children Carole (Jim), Ed (Elizabeth), Brian (Tangamah), Debbie (Rick) and his grandchildren David, Liane, Sheri, Alison, Tara, Jason, Sarah, Alex, Joey, Jeffrey, Marshall, Bella and his great grandchildren Carole-Vivian, Jack, Kai, Jaime, Paige, Megan and Logan.

He was born on July 16, 1925 in Cornwall Ontario, served as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces on stage entertaining the troops and he married the love of his life Vivian in Barrie, Ontario on February 16, 1945.
He was a member of the St. Lambert Curling Club, The Country Club of Montreal (In St. Lambert), The Kahnawake Golf Club, The Palm Air West Golf Club (in Sarasota, Florida) and the YMCA in N.D.G..

Edward founded the industrial contracting firm Berwil Ltd in 1948 and remained president until 1995. He had a deep respect and admiration for each and every one of his employees and their families. During this time, he threw the largest “lobster” party in Montreal for 23 consecutive years.

As the owner of restaurant Chez Berge in St. Lambert during the early 1980’s, he thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to pamper his friends with fine French cuisine accompanied by his love for people, lively conversation and the telling of humorous stories. He loved and cherished his family and many dear friends.

It is with great joy that we will have the opportunity to pay tribute to this remarkable man.
The visitation will be held on Saturday January 20, 2018 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. The funeral service will be on Sunday January 21, 2018 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. followed by a reception from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. The visitation, service and reception will take place at Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont, Qc, H2V 2P9 www.mountroyalcem.com

C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès, à l’âge de 92 ans, de M. Edward Bergeron, époux de feu Vivian Bergeron, survenu le 9 janvier 2018.

L’ont précédé ses frères Kenneth, Alison, Maxwell et sa sœur Claire. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Carole (Jim), Ed (Elizabeth), Brian (Tangamah), Debbie (Rick), ses petits-enfants David, Liane, Sheri, Alison, Tara, Jason, Sarah, Alex, Joey, Jeffrey, Marshall, Bella, ses arrières petits-enfants Carole-Vivian, Jack, Kai, Jaime, Paige, Megan et Logan ainsi que sa sœur Janita et son frère Noel.

Edward est né le 16 juillet 1925 à Cornwall en Ontario. Il a servi dans les Forces armées Canadiennes sur la scène pour divertir les troupes pour ensuite épousé l’amour de sa vie, Vivian à Barrie en Ontario le 16 février 1945. Il était membre du club de curling de St. Lambert, le Country Club de Montréal (St. Lambert), le Kahnawake Golf Club, The Palm Air West Golf Club (Sarasota, Florida) et le YMCA de N.D.G..

Edward a fondé la compagnie de construction Berwil Ltée en 1948 où il a été président jusqu’en 1995. Il avait un grand respect et de l’admiration pour chacun de ses employés ainsi que leurs familles. Pendant 23 ans consécutifs, il a organisé le plus grand souper « homard » à Montréal.

Au début des années 1980, il était le propriétaire du restaurant Chez Berge à St. Lambert. Il a énormément aimé pouvoir choyer ses amis avec la fine cuisine française. Il aimait converser avec les gens et raconter des histoires humoristiques au restaurant. Il aimait et appréciait sa famille et ses nombreux amis.

C’est avec beaucoup de joie que la famille aura l’opportunité de vous recevoir afin de rendre hommage à cet homme remarquable au Complexe funéraire Mont-Royal 1297 chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC, H2V 2P9 www.mountroyalcem.com le samedi 20 janvier 2018 de 12h à 17h. Le service funéraire sera célébré dans la Chapelle du Complexe funéraire le dimanche 21 janvier 2018 de 12h à 13h, suivi de la réception de 13h à 15h.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à Jeunesse au Soleil seraient appréciés.
