Edmond Pius (Ed) Saulnier July 11th, 1934 (Corberrie, NS) – January 7th, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ed on January 7, 2021, in his 86th year. He was a cherished and loved husband to his devoted wife Jeanne ♥ (née Carrière) of 63 years.

Beloved father of Louise (Robert), Linda (Dave), Michel (Janice), Marc (Tracey), Luc (Nancy) and Lise (Ryan).

Cherished grandfather of Christopher (Alison), Kathleen (Sean), Kyle (Rachel), Tyler (Maria), Connor, Bryce, Breann, Zachary, Benjamin, Jasmine & Keïlanne.

Predeceased by his parents Armand and Adèle (Thimot) Saulnier, his sister Anna, brother Willard and sisters-in-law Pearl & Anna. Edmond is also survived by his sister Loretta (Jean-Louis) and brothers Norman, Herbert (Claudette) and Andrew (Nora). As well as many nephews, nieces and friends.

Ed joined Scotiabank in Yarmouth, NS as a Junior in 1952, and gained early experiences in many Quebec branches. Ed received his first management appointment in Drummondville, QC, in 1963, and managed many Quebec branches including Upper Town, Quebec City, Ville LaSalle, Montreal and Mount Royal and St-Urbain in Montreal. Ed was appointed Senior Assistant Manager, Montreal Main Branch, in 1972. In 1974, he transferred to the Quebec region as Supervisor, Credit, and held other positions there including District Supervisor and Assistant General Manager. Ed was appointed Assistant General Manager, Canadian Commercial Credit, General Office, Toronto in 1983. He was appointed Vice-President, Credit, for the province of Quebec in 1989 and retired from there in 1994! A legacy of strong ethics, determination and excellence without a doubt all passed on to his family!

After his retirement, Ed and Jeanne spent their winters enjoying the Florida sun where Ed played the game he most loved, golf.

Due to the exceptional circumstances of the pandemic, the funeral will be held in private.

C'est avec une très grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès d'Edmond, le 7 janvier 2021 à l’âge de 86 ans. Époux de Jeanne ♥ (née Carrière) de 63 ans.

Père bien-aimé de Louise (Robert), Linda (Dave), Michel (Janice), Marc (Tracey), Luc (Nancy) et Lise (Ryan).

Grand-père adoré de Christopher (Alison), Kathleen (Sean), Kyle (Rachel), Tyler (Maria), Connor, Bryce, Breann, Zachary, Benjamin, Jasmine et Keïlanne.

Edmond fils de feu Armand Saulnier et feu Adèle Thimot, laisse également dans le deuil ses frères et sœurs Norman (feu Pearl), feu Willard (feu Anna), Herbert (Claudette), Andrew (Nora), Loretta (Jean-Louis) et feu Anna. Ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces et amis.

Edmond débute sa carrière à la Banque Scotia à Yarmouth, NÉ en 1952 à titre de stagiaire et acquiert rapidement ses premières expériences dans de nombreuses succursales au Québec. Il a reçu sa première nomination de direction à Drummondville, QC en 1963 et a dirigé plusieurs succursales du Québec par la suite, dont la Haute-Ville, Québec, LaSalle, Montréal et Mont-Royal et St-Urbain à Montréal. Edmond a été nommé Directeur adjoint principal, à la Succursale principale de Montréal, en 1972. En 1974, il a été transféré au bureau de la Direction du Québec à titre de Superviseur, crédit et y a occupé d'autres postes, notamment celui de Superviseur de district et de Directeur général adjoint. Edmond a été nommé Directeur général adjoint, Crédit commercial canadien, au Bureau général à Toronto en 1983. Il a été nommé Vice-président, Crédit, province du Québec à Montréal en 1989 et a pris sa retraite en 1994! Un héritage d’éthique forte, de détermination et d’excellence sans aucun doute transmis à sa famille!

Après sa retraite, Edmond et Jeanne ont passé leurs hivers à profiter du soleil de la Floride où Edmond a joué le jeu qu'il aimait le plus, le golf!

En raison des circonstances exceptionnelles de la pandémie, les funérailles seront célébrées en privé.
