In Celebration of

Dr. Gerald Trudel

December 8, 1931 -  November 23, 2020

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Joseph Trudel, PhD, (Chemistry) on Monday the 23rd November (2020) youngest son of Esther Lachance and Alfred Trudel, in Montréal at the age of 88. He was much loved by his very special friend Glennis Corlett, and his three daughters Katherine (Denis), Géralyn (Lee), Wendy (Steven). He is also survived by his grandchildren (Kriston-Scott, Ian, Mélanie, Meghan, Adam, André-Philippe, Lyanne, Daniel, Kevin), ten great-grandchildren and nieces (Sharyn and Michelle) and nephews (Richard and Steven).
Gerald is predeceased by his older brothers Alfred and Robert, his sister Catherine, his grandson Nicholas, his niece Suzanne, and his nephew Daniel. He touched many people’s lives and leaves close friends who will miss him dearly. He was a self-driven man, starting as a carpenter’s apprentice to reach his goal as a university professor. His teaching at Loyola College, Concordia University and McGill University, business ventures, community building projects, volunteer service and involvement in his church were his many passions and his contributions were much appreciated.
We wish to sincerely thank La Résidence Floralies de Lachine for their excellent and dedicated care of Gerald during the last few months of his multifaceted life.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice, respecting Gerald’s values. He was passionate about the treatment of incurable diseases, Christian based ministries, and the welfare of teenagers in difficulty.
The time and place of a memorial to honour his memory will be announced later.

Gerald
We will miss you and your unbridled positivity. You were supposed to be with us for much longer than this. I will think of you on your birthday, since we will not be able to talk as we have every other year.
