In Celebration of

Donna Bourne (nee Fraser)

February 16, 1948 -  January 26, 2020

BOURNE, Donna M. (née Fraser) on January 26, 2020 passed away peacefully at her home in Beaconsfield following a fierce battle with cancer. She was three weeks shy of her 72nd birthday.

Donna was the beloved mother of Christine (Jon Koch), Fraser (Michèle Lefaivre) and Andrew (Sarah Grove), and adored “Gran” to Abbey, Owen, Juliet, Nicola, Cassandra, Gabrielle, Robyn and Victor. She is survived by Richard Bourne, her sisters Joanne Leger (Peter) and Barbara Fraser (Tom Hayes) and was predeceased by her brother Charles and her parents C. Donald and Marjorie (“Abbey”) Fraser.

Donna was vibrant, tenacious and selfless, had boundless energy and an infectious thirst for life. Her family was her pride and passion. To them she was a tower of strength.

She was loved by her many close friends, who appreciated her attentive ear and uncensored opinions. A self-proclaimed “going concern”, Donna will also be dearly missed by her bridge partners, book clubbers, cycling friends, travel and ski buddies, opera goers and fellow gardening enthusiasts.

On February 14th, 2020 at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, there will be a visitation at noon and a funeral service at 2pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Morgan Arboretum, where Donna loved to ski, walk and regenerate, or NOVA West Island, would be appreciated.

A special thanks to the dedicated and talented people at the Cedars Cancer Centre and to the NOVA and CLSC nurses for their compassion and care in her final days.
