In Celebration of

Diane Mary Majdell (nee Tabah)

September 13, 1942 -  August 26, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Majdell in Montreal on August 26, 2022, at the age of 79.

Beloved wife of the late Ronald Majdell, mother of Lynn and Gary, grandmother of Stephanie Bambara (Anthony), James Bambara, Laura Bambara (Cherif), and great-grandmother of Audrey, Chloe and Theodore.

She is the daughter of the late George and Sue Tabah (Sadaka), and will be fondly remembered by her brothers, Joe Tabah (Monique), Richard Tabah (Vesna), sister, Doris Tabah, wife of the late Guy LaPalme, sister-in-law, Beth Majdell, wife of the late Brian Majdell and her many nieces and nephews.

Diane will be remembered as the love of Ronnie’s life, a devoted mother to her children, an incredible and deeply cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, affectionately known as “Nanny” to them.

Diane was a passionate interior designer. She was a lover of fine things and this enriched not only the many spheres of her life but the lives of others.

She was an outstanding cook and the ultimate hostess as she and Ronnie enjoyed entertaining their friends and family in their warm, welcoming and beautiful homes.

Diane was an avid bridge player who loved people, life and art. She was always up for an adventure, enjoying skiing, traveling and discovering new places and cultures. She had an amazing sense of style, grace and generosity that will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Funeral services will be held on September 13, 2022 at Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, starting with visitation from 9 AM to 11 AM, followed by the mass, burial and mercy meal.

A special thanks to the staff at the Oncology ward at the Jewish General Hospital together with her caregivers for their kind and loving support.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Cedars Cancer Foundation at 514-656-6662 or the St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church at 514-270-9788.

Diane and I co-chaired a Fashion Show together for the benefit of our church St Nicholas. That is when I truly grew to know the real Diane. A dynamo who was related to the entire Community.
When Diane wanted something done she found a way despite whatever opposition. She had a wealth of connections, ideas and supplies tucked away somewhere in her apartment.
Diane, I truly enjoyed the time we worked together and enjoyed hearing you speak lovingly of your husband Ron who I had known since his childhood. Your love for your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was also abundantly visible as you prepared a party to introduce the newest addition.
Now you are at peace and no longer suffering
May your memory be eternal
