It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diana Aziz in Montreal on September 2 , 2022 at the age of 97 .

The only daughter of the late George Zakaib and the late Naify Shatilla she was born May 30, 1925 in Montreal but raised in Sorel , Quebec.

Diana was the dearly beloved wife of the late Edward Aziz to whom she was married for sixty years.

She is survived by her only child Dr. Michael Aziz with whom she lived at the Cambridge Residence in Pointe-Claire and who was by her side when she passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital.

Diana and Eddy married in 1948 and lived in Sorel until moving to Montreal in 1979.

Diana made many friends at a young age while in Sorel and she kept a close relationship with all of them all her life.
She was an avid bridge player and at one time was playing as often as four times a week.

She leaves behind her sister in law Isabel ( Zigayer ) and her first cousins Frances Kalil ( Alex ) and Susan Shatilla ( on her mother’s side ) and John Rassi and Paul Zakaib ( on her father’s side ) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Funeral Complex of the Mount Royal Cemetary located at :
1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont starting with visitations on Monday September 26th from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and on Tuesday September 27th a short visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon.
