Bruno Leo Londei
February 8, 1956 – October 4, 2019
“A big, soft, warm, emotional bear.”
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bruno Londei on October 4, 2019. Cherished husband and best friend of Susan Read, proud father of Aiden and his wife Marianne Brownie, Matt and his wife Sam Del Grosso, Catherine, and Hollywood, his devoted pug. Adoring PopPop to his grandsons Barrett and Callum, a role that was big slippers to fill and that he assumed to perfection. Bruno is predeceased by his parents Eddy and Olive Londei and his in-laws Clift and Lois Read. Brother and brother-in-law to Gino, Michael, Jeffrey, Brian, Linda, Philip, and their partners and children. He leaves to mourn his Aunt Lina Smolensky of New York, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States, New Zealand, and United Arab Emirates. Bruno had a circle of friends who loved him just as he loved them: The Wells Beach Family, The Taps Boys, Golf Club Buddies, his Cedar Park Family, Pointe-Claire Plaza and Yazoo Groups, greatest neighbours, and beloved New Hampshire Friends and Family. Bruno spent years involved in West Island Hockey as a coach to his sons and their friends and was a devoted Irish Dance Dad. He enjoyed his retirement from the Greenfield Park-Longueuil Police Department, golfing, cooking, baking, and spending time with the ones he loved. Bruno had a wonderful sense of humour and was as good at making jokes as he was at taking them. He was a supportive and loving father who would have done anything for his kids. For Bruno, life meant looking out for others and making sure everyone was taken care of. He would prepare our favourite meals on our birthdays and always had available what guests liked to drink. Bruno was an exceptionally thoughtful man who welcomed everyone into his home and backyard. He was happiest in his comfy clothes, in his big puffy chair, with his dog on his lap, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and his beautiful wife – he loved his Sus so much. Bruno lived a life filled with love for those around him and we invite you to share your love with us as he continues his journey. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 25 from 3-5 and 7-9, and October 26 from 10-11 with a service to follow at the chapel of the Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 Route TransCanada, Senneville, H9X 0B2. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
“As we loved him, so we will miss him”
