In Celebration of

Barbara "Ruthie" Kearns Bidwell

February 24, 1926 -  August 5, 2017

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara “Ruthie” Kearns Bidwell.

On August 5th, 2017, Ruthie (affectionately known as Nanny, Nanna and Granny-Nanny by her loved ones) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 91. Ruthie, beloved wife of the late Douglas P. Bidwell, is survived by her daughters, Carol and Kathy, her grandson Eric, her granddaughters Valerie and Stephanie, her nephews Ron and Ralph, as well as her great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Alexane, Frédérique, Edmond, Charles and friends.

We would like to thank Dr. Narbonne, Dr. Kovitz-Lensch and staff in the ICU who were so supportive and kind, in our hour of need. Many thanks to Father Roman Lahola, for his spiritual guidance.

Her loved ones request a private funeral that will be held on Friday, August 11th, at 3:00 PM at the Hawthorn-Dale Cemetery in Pointe-aux-Trembles, 15 005 Sherbrooke East. Visitations from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit the online site to sign the memory book as well as to extend their condolences to the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

What can one say to bring comfort to those who have lost a loved one? Words cannot convey what we feel inside and the memories shared so long ago. We can only hope these written words can bring some solace and hope you know Wr are thinking of you both, Carol and Kathy, as well as your little families. May Ruthie Rest in peace as I am sure she will continue to watch over you in the arms of her beloved Mr B.

Virtual hugs!
