In Celebration of

Anita Theresia Margareta Hold (nee Jost)

February 19, 1938 -  December 27, 2018

Passed peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, Montreal on December 27th 2018.

Devoted wife of Tony Hold; loving mother of Markus and Betina; grandmother of Krista, Alexander and Katarina; sister to Hans Peter; aunt to James, Elisa and Hannah. Loved by all, she leaves to mourn many extended family members and friends, both in Canada and abroad.

A woman of formidable determination, Anita fought hard to give her family the gift of her presence for Christmas. When not receiving visits from beloved family members and old friends, one of her greatest comforts during her final days was listening to Ave Maria, the song played at hers and Tony’s wedding fifty-seven years ago.

Throughout her life, Anita was a dedicated patron of the arts and a generous supporter of numerous charitable causes. She will be greatly missed by the Austrian Society of Montreal, who she served for forty years and was awarded a Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria.

Family will receive condolences on January 25th from 16:00 to 21:00 and January 26th from 10:00 to 12:00 at the
Mount Royal Funeral Complex
1297 Chemin de la Forêt,
Outremont, QC, H2V 2P9
(514) 279-6540

A church service will be held at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish (899 Chomedey Blvd, Laval, Quebec) on January 26th from 13:30 to 14:30, followed thereafter by a gathering of family and friends at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex.

The family would like to thank the excellent medical staff at St. Mary’s for their devoted care to Anita. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name will be graciously accepted to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund (In patient Department, in her name).

Our condolences to Tony and family. Anita was such an elegant woman, we enjoyed spending time with her at the yearly Heurigen preparations. It was a joy to watch Anita and Tony dance across the floor during the evening. I admired her strength and her grace. Anna and Allan
