In Celebration of

Agis Pappas

June 3, 1940 -  June 5, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Agis on June 5th, 2020 after a courageous battle against cancer. A beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is predeceased by his daughter Maria.

He is survived by his devoted wife Cristina Garbarino and a cherished father to his daughters, Vicky (Douglas), Alexandra (Peter), Christina (Robert) and a loving grandfather to Samantha, Michael, Maria, Anthony, Nicholas, Thomas, Ashley, and Christopher. His brother in Greece Philip (Zoe) and all family members.

Agis had a great passion for his work and a tremendous love of life, which enabled him to enjoy countless relationships that he cherished over the years. His favorite saying was always “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL”.

Forever in our hearts, he will be greatly missed by us all.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Jewish General Hospital, for their care and compassion. Donations can be made in honour of Agis to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation.

Due to the present circumstances a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I have many wonderful memories working alongside Agis. It was early in my career at Sanyo and Agis made the job exciting, always upbeat and looking to help me. I learned from Agis to invest in relationships as they will see you through tough times. My trips to Montreal were always a treat, I got to watch the master at his game. What a saleman, what a life.
Tina and family, my deepest condolences.

I am truly heartbroken to hear of the passing of my good friend and Co-buyer Agis.
I met him back in 1991as a very green buyer in Electronics at Price Club(now Costco),became fast friends with his lovely daughter Maria(R.I.P. my friend)and eventually met his other wonderful daughters and of course,Tina.
Through all these years, long after I was out of the Sanyo business,we would stay in touch, always got a nice call at the Holidays, and we would meet up at various functions and catch up.
I will always remember how much Agis and Tina helped me through the years at Costco,as well as the great Pappas family.
Rest In Peace my friend, and we will miss you ❤️

Dear Tina,

We've lost a teacher of many things, and a caring friend. Agis, one who never aged, was the rare person who could combine great business instincts with deep trusting relationships all over the world. We'll miss our regular phone-call check-ins with him, and sharing the news in each other's lives. The 35 years of memories too numerous to mention, will stay with us.

Barry, Marla & the family
