Violet Borondy (Nee Janvary) 1941-2017
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Violet Janvary Borondy on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Jewish General Hospital after her brave battle to cancer. Beloved wife of Louis Borondy, caring mother to Louis (Mia Grillakis), Linda (Andreas Majewski) and John (Michelle Thibeault) and sister of Barbara and her two late brothers: Joseph and John. Her grandchildren: John, Eleni, William-Martin and Paul-Lewis will miss her dearly. Violet was a devoted woman to her family, who loved gardening and homemade cooking. Her rich and famous 12 egg layer cakes will be truly missed. Violet was a hard working handywoman, who tirelessly managed the family business and never feared any challenge to get work done. She spoke English, French and Hungarian fluently. A kind and strong woman, who always put others before herself. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 28, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday June 29, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel of the complex at 11 a.m. at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, Québec, H2V 2P9, (514) 279-6540, www.mountroyalcem.com. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Violet’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital.
