In Celebration of

Sophia Atsalinos

January 18, 1939 -  April 9, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sophia Atslinos Papadakis, on Saturday April 9, 2022 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Dean. She is also predeceased by her cherished sister Pat (late Ted).

She leaves behind her pride and joy Aggie (Fernando) and her most cherished grandkids Emma and Mateo. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Nini (late Nick), nephews and nieces: Tony, Jack (late Debbie), Van (Kellie), Emmanuel (Maria), Ted (Carole), Bill, Jim (Cindi) and Maria (Mark). Along with her fellow “consuegra”, abuela Elida (Andres), she was forever thankful to have had the opportunity to help raise her grandchildren. Her close friends Christine (Guy) and Carmen (Nick) will miss their shenanigans
together greatly.

Sophia graduated from Macdonald Teachers College and taught both high school and most memorably elementary school grade 1 for over 40 years. To this day, numerous past students remember what a great teacher she was and what a big impact she had on them.

She dedicated her life to her family, was an incredible mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. We will all undoubtedly miss all her handmade cards and handwritten poems.

She will forever be in our hearts and we were all truly blessed to have her in our lives.

We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Sayegh and the staff at Hawkesbury General Hospital for their amazing compassion and care.

Visitation on Wednesday April 27, 2022 from 10 am to Noon followed by the funeral service in the chapel of the Complex at Noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, NOVA Hudson, or SPCA would be appreciated.
