In Celebration of

Rosann Bonotto

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Rosann Bonotto on August 20th, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones.

Rosann was born in Valdagno, Italy, 69 years ago and immigrated to Canada at age 6 with her parents Maddalena and Ugo. She was fluent in Italian, French and English, and travelled the world with unusual ease. She passionately enjoyed her many interests, including skiing, tennis, golf and sailing; she trekked Mongolia, climbed to the base camp of Everest, became a yoga instructor, and was an accomplished ballroom dancer.

Most of all, Rosann was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Alexandre, who preceded her in death last September. Her courage during that trying time was an example to all her many friends and she was blessed with a granddaughter, Olivia, one month later.

Rosann is survived by her loving husband, Richard Broida; daughter-in-law, Marcela Monsalve; and granddaughter, Olivia Monsalve Bonotto. She is also mourned by her cousins in Italy, Marco, Andrea, Giulio, Asia Nicotra and Monica Zenere, and countless friends in all parts of the world. During her illness, Rosann had wonderful support from her 'caring angels', Annalisa Piccolo and Nives Degano. We would also like to thank Dr. Peter Metrakos and Dr. Jamil Asselah at the McGill University Health Center, as well as every member of the nursing staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital for the extraordinary care they proffered at all times.

The family will receive condolences at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 15th, at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC, H2V 2P9, 514-279-6540, www.mountroyalcem.com. The Memorial Service will commence at 3 p.m. in the chapel, followed by a celebration of Rosann's life. Valet parking service will be offered.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosann's memory may be made to 'Dans la Rue', an organization that helps homeless and at-risk youth to rebuild their lives. This will fulfill her wish to assist in the purchase of a much needed new “Roulotte” (the "Van"), an endeavour that she began at the time of Alexandre's passing. https://danslarue.org/en/

Dear Richard,
There are no words to describe how sorry we are for your loss.
Rosann was a wonderful and courageous woman, a great wife, a loving mother of beloved Alexandre and an extraordinary grandmother for baby Olivia.
This sad news leave all of us without words, but it's of confort that now she's in peace embraced with her loved son Alexandre in the sky.
On earth we are more poor without them, but we also know now we have two angels who watch over us and their memory will be with us forever.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you, Marcela, Olivia and all your family during this difficult time.
A big hug to all of you hoping to see you soon.

We met on New Years Eve Party in1997 given by Luc & Dannielle Barre house at St.Maarten. Some years later, during the Holidays, we would see each other again at a common friends house. Rosanne was a spiritual, lively and elegant woman with lots of interest in life. I am very sorry to hear of her passing and my condolences to her family.
