In Celebration of

Ronald George Jones

July 24, 1933 -  October 9, 2016

On Sunday, October 9th, 2016 at the age of 83, Ron passed away at the MGH succumbing to complications from a fall. Beloved husband of Twink (Eleanor Wray) and devoted father of David (Grace Lao) of Bellevue WA and Susan of Montreal. He was THE BEST grandfather to his four granddaughters, Megan, Alexandra and Caroline Kouri and Sophie Jones. He also leaves to mourn his brother Raymond (Joanne) of Sutton, and his sister Patricia Deacon (George) of Lachute. A highly skilled and respected Prosthodontist, Ron practiced dentistry for over 50 years and was a pioneer in the field of temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

Ron's professional accomplishments were numerous. He taught as a professor at McGill and lectured at the Universite de Montreal. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, amongst others. He was also a passionate outdoorsman and avid fisherman. His most cherished memories were of summers spent at Lake Terror and Lake Louisa surrounded by family and friends. He was a former president of the Almart Lumber Company and Tonomo Fish and Game Club. After retiring from dentistry, he turned his passion for photography into a passion for art and became a successful oil painter, culminating in a highly successful vernissage at the Montreal Art Center last October. Ron had a wicked sense of humour and loved to enjoy a martini or glass of red wine with friends. He was generous, kind and deeply loved by all who knew him. We miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Traumatic Brain Injury Program at the MGH would be appreciated. A celebration of Ron's life will be held at his daughter's home on October 26th from 3 PM to 7 PM.
