RITA IRENE SIMPSON

Died in Montreal, on May 18th, 2017, aged 76, after a gradual but inexorable decline spanning more than two decades. Predeceased by partner Tony Lang (died 2002). Survived by two brothers in England. A private cremation has been held. Special thanks to all the dedicated residence staff who cared for her from 2003 onwards, at the Griffith McConnell Residence, at Vista, and finally - since September 2015 - at St. Andrew’s CHSLD. Her oft-repeated motto before her illness was ‘Go with the flow’: as her incapacity slowly overtook her, that became her only choice. Those who knew her will remember her smile: by the end, that was almost the only thing she had left to share.
