In Celebration of

Rita Chretien Adamakos

March 10, 1925 -  November 22, 2018

Surrounded by her family, Rita passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Thursday November 22, 2018. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, George Adamakos, she is survived by her children Carol (Micheline); Helen and her children with Andrew, Paul (Julia), Laurie (Patrick) and great-grandson Elias. She was the daughter of the late Lorette Laparé and Georges Chrétien. She will be sadly missed by her loved ones as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rita grew up on her parents’ farm in St.Anicet. As a young adult, she left for the big city of Montreal to find her future. There she met her husband George Adamakos. They married, raised their family and built their life around the Texan Restaurant. She was a proud and devoted wife. She enjoyed socializing with the hockey players (especially the Montreal Canadiens), the journalists and the many patrons that came through their door.

Rita had a mischievous smile, a generous heart and was fiercely protective of those she loved. She adored her two grandchildren Paul and Laurie. She always had a warm and welcoming home where she would love to cook and entertain her family and friends. Gardening was one of her passions. She won Best Garden in NDG in the late 80’s which was a source of pride for her. Rita loved fashion and red was her favorite color. She always looked beautiful until the end of her life.

Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Zampini for her professionalism and attentive care over the many years. The family would like to give great thanks to the caregivers Marie-Lourdes, Rosemonde, Régine and Marie-Josée who took good care of Rita in the last phase of her life.

The family will be receiving condolences starting at 12:00 p.m. on Friday November 30, 2018 at the:
