In Celebration of

Dr. Priscilla Gladu (nee David)

July 17, 1934 -  April 10, 2023

Dr. Priscilla David Gladu

July 17, 1934 – April 10, 2023

Priscilla David Gladu, 88, of Montreal very sadly passed away April 10, 2023 in Beaconsfield after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons and dementia with her family by her side.

Predeceased by her father, Walter David, mother, Katherine Spalek David, brother, Walter David, and son, Corrie Kredl.

Priscilla was born to Walter and Katherine David on July 17, 1934 in Montreal, Quebec. She graduated from Montreal High School, received her teacher’s diploma from Macdonald College in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, her Masters in Education from McGill University and a PHD in Psychology from Walden University.

Priscilla was a wonderful mom to her four children, Corrie, Kathryn, David and Derek that she had with her first husband, Otto Kredl.

Priscilla was married to her soulmate, Gerry Gladu for 32 fabulous years. They alternated their time between Montreal and Delray Beach, Florida, sprinkled with extensive travelling around the world.

Priscilla was an incredible athlete playing volleyball and basketball in high school and then skiing, tennis and windsurfing later. However, Priscilla’s greatest athletic passion was golf. She loved to play golf and was a very proud, long-time member of Royal Montreal Golf Club. She also gave back to the game and was president of the Quebec branch of the CLGA.

Priscilla was always a trailblazer, ahead of her time. With 3 young kids, she went back to school to get her Masters and in later years, after a change in circumstances, went back to school to get her PHD. There was no quit in Priscilla in whatever she tackled. She took on career, motherhood, golf and many other activities with gusto.

Priscilla worked at Sir George University (which became Concordia) as a guidance counsellor and instructor in the business development department. Priscilla loved helping her students with whatever problems they faced and was proud of
their accomplishments.

Priscilla is survived by her husband, Gerry Gladu, sister-in-law Shirley David, daughter, Kathryn McGarvey (Jim) and sons, David Kredl (Karen) and Derek Kredl (Michelle), grandchildren Nikita, Natasha, Samuelle, Toma, Michael, Madison and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Priscilla’s main interests of education, golf and women’s issues, donations, in lieu of flowers, gratefully accepted to the Jocelyne Bourassa Scholarship Program under the Golf Canada Foundation umbrella. Weblink https://secure.e2rm.com/p2p/event/383396/en-CA.

A celebration of this remarkable life is planned for Friday, April 21st at the Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 Trans-Canada Highway, Senneville, Quebec at 12 noon. Visitation starting at 10 am.
