In Celebration of

Patricia Falta

June 26, 1941 -  February 10, 2017

Ladislava Patricia Falta
1941-2017

Passed away peacefully on February 10, 2017 at the age of 76. Pre-deceased by her beloved sister Vera Falta Glenn, and her parents Frederick (Bedrich) Falta and Vera Falta Dintrova. She will be missed by her friends and family, especially Jan & Vera, Jana (Jeff), and Martin (Lisa), and the children of the extended family, which she doted on.
Patricia’s family immigrated to Canada from Czechoslovakia, via Switzerland, in 1950. They eventually settled in T.M.R., on MacNeil Rd. Patricia had her share of tragedy in her life. She was paralyzed in a car accident in 1968, and soon after lived through a divorce and the loss of both of her parents. More recently, after the death of her sister, she was victimized by a caregiver. But through it all, Patricia persevered. She earned a Masters in Architecture from McGill, taught design at Universite de Montreal, and was recognized for her role in setting wheelchair accessibility standards across Canada, earning numerous professional awards and honours. Until close to the very end, she maintained a courageous independence, kept a beautiful house, read voraciously, and was very supportive of her family near and far. Her drive and spirit will remain an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to a moment of remembrance and friendship on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, starting at 10:00 am, to be followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm, at

Mount Royal Funeral Complex
1297 Chemin de la Foret

The family thanks the staff of the Jewish Eldercare Centre and the Jewish General Hospital for their attention to her wellbeing over the last several years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jewish Eldercare Center, 5725 Avenue Victoria, Montréal, QC H3W 3H6 (http://www.jewisheldercare.ca) would be appreciated.
