It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paolo Fassina on February 26, 2017 at the age of 82. Paolo was born in Milan, Italy and moved to Montreal in 1960. He was an avid skier and hiker in his younger years, until health issues kept him off the hills. Although the last couple of years were increasingly difficult for him, Paolo passed just as he lived: peacefully and with quiet dignity. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Anke Fassina; his children Micaela (Roger) and Daniel (Courtney); and his grandchildren Emily, Benjamin, Madeline, David, Lauren and Julia, as well as many cousins and friends in Italy and Canada. The funeral will take place on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Mount-Royal Chapel located at 1297 ch. de la Forêt, Outremont, H2V 2P9. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.
