Nancy’s family sadly announce her peaceful death following a rapid decline in health, in Montreal, QC. Nancy was the proud matriarch of a loving and large family. She will be forever missed by her Chadwick children: Jennifer (the late Patrick Vriend), Michael “Jake” (Mary Brierley), Bryan (Linda Cho) of NYC, and Susan (Andrew de Courcy-Ireland); and grandchildren Jessica and Stephanie “SJ” Vriend; Julia, Evelyn and Leo Chadwick; Fynn and Foster Chadwick; Matthew, Nicholas and William de Courcy-Ireland. Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Alexandor (Michael) of Vancouver, BC, and will be dearly missed by her brother Evan Birks (Elizabeth Kurth) of White Plains, NY. Predeceased by ex-husband Richard Vaux Chadwick, Nancy was stepmother of Linn Mo (Trondheim, Norway) and Richard Buckley Chadwick (Karen Keeler, West Bloomfield, MI). Also predeceased by husband John Hampton Hale, with whom she shared an exciting life and love of travel, fishing and gardening in Montreal, London and Aldeburgh, UK. Nancy was stepmother of the late Susan Hale (John Sanford), Jonathan R. Hale (Jayne Almond) of London & Aldeburgh, UK, and C. Anne Hale of Victoria, BC. She was attentive and loving to her step-grandchildren and their children. A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on January 15, 2018 at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 de la Forêt, Montrea,l QC, H2V 2P9, 514-279-6540.
