Michael Toly, age 90, born December 24, 1928 in Oberwart, Austria, died following a short illness on July 19th, surrounded by his loving family. Mike and his wife, Elisabeth, immigrated to Montreal in 1954 to start a new life. Mike had a gift for building and fixing things; he worked for CN and VIA rail and retired after 28 years of service. He will be remembered as a self-sacrificing and hardworking man, always lending a helping hand at his church or community. He was a member of the Hungarian United Church, volunteering in many of its activities. Mike is survived by Elisabeth, his loving wife of 65 years; sons Louis (Valerie) and Fred (Beth); Opa to Joshua, Jason, Kaity, and Julianna; and relatives in Canada and Austria. On Saturday, July 27th, there will be a 10:00 AM Visitation, an 11:00 AM Memorial Service followed by a reception ending at 2:00 PM, all held at the Blythe Bernier Funeral Home, 940 Ogilvy Avenue, Montreal.
